On
the bottom floor will be the support facilities. Under the
North Wing (Phase I) will be a kitchen, a dining room, a small
overnight room for the caretaker or cook, bathrooms, and a
small study area. This was designed so that when Phase I is
completed (hopefully by July, 2004) the retreat center will
be ready to function allowing eight retreatants to come and
stay.
Under the shrine room will be the library which will house
both ancient texts in Tibetan and Sanskrit and also western
books on Dharma. Thrangu Rinpoche has donated a copy of the
Kangyur to the library and there are 750 hundred audio and
videotapes of Thrangu Rinpoche's teachings to go into the
library. Hopefully, the library will also house audio tapes,
video tapes, CDs, and books of many other great masters. The
library will also have computers and be connected to the internet
so that these teachings can be reproduced and shared with
other dharma centers.
Finally, the lower level of the South wing has been left unplanned
so that this space can be most effectively utilized after
the center is running and various unforeseen needs come up.
