Campgrounds & Parks
June may be a very busy month for local campgrounds & parks so try to reserve a space as early as possible...

The two campgrounds that are closest to town are Mount San Jacinto State Park and Idyllwild County Park. They both have hot showers and modern restrooms and are probably your best choices for convenience. Stone Creek and Marion Mountain Campgrounds are further away but less noisy.

Marion Mountain and Dark Canyon  campgrounds are about six miles north of Idyllwild. Campsites are limited. Some are available on a first-come basis and most by reservation. Call (877) 444-6777 for reservations. Marion Mountain - Cost: $10.00 per night and $8.65 reservation fee (non refundable). Dark Canyon - Cost: $12.00 per night and $8.65 reservation fee (non refundable).

Idyllwild County Park - this 202 acre woodsy park offers 96 sites which are always busy. If any sites are left open after reserved sites are filled, they are then available on a first-come basis. Phone: (909) 659-2656 - Cost: $15.00 a nite plus a $6.50 reservation fee (non refundable).

Hurkey Creek - is about nine miles from Idyllwild. This 59-acre park has 100 campsites, five group camping areas and two day-use areas. It offers showers, modern restrooms, stoves, and picnic tables in a forested area. Phone: (909) 659-2050 - Cost: $15.00 a nite plus a $6.50 reservation fee (non refundable).
