Annual Mani Drubchen

Every year at Thrangu Rinpoche's school, Shree Mangal Dvip Boarding High School in Boudhanath, Rinpoche and all his monks and nuns take perform the Annual Mani Drubchen. Many lay people from the community, parents of the schoolchildren and Buddhist disciples from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia and western countries take part in this event. The Drubchen is sponsored by Thrangu Rinpoche's center in Hong Kong. The Mani Drubchen is performed for ten days in the large Shrine room of the school from early morning to evening. During that time, the collective participants recite ten million "Om Mani Padme Hum" mantras. These days, the Drubchen is usually held in April, shortly after the Namo Buddha seminar. On the last day Thrangu Rinpoche will give Chenrezig empowerment.
