Short and Long-term Retreats under the direction of
Thrangu Rinpoche's Resident Lamas: Lama Karma Wangdu and Khenpo Jigme

Vajra Vidya Happenings

Vajra Vidya heralds its one year anniversary. We had our first retreatant in March of 2005. Lama Wangdu and Khenpo Jigme arrived in July of 2005.

The signs of spring are in the air on the retreat land. Yesterday Lama and Khenpo went to Monte Vista about 30 miles south of Crestone. Thousands of Sandhill cranes were in the lake and surrounding fields resting from their migration north. English lessons are continuing daily. Along with the daily practices and the interviews Lama and Khenpo are seeped in the demands of leaning how to run the Vajra Vidya Retreat Center. Lama does a lot of data entry. He has entered now over 100 people into the upcoming Summer Retreat with Thrangu Rinpoche. Khenpo's high energy has flowed through interviews with retreatants and helping clean after meals. This has only been possible because of the decrease in retreatants over the winter months. With spring well on its way access to the retreat center will make planning a retreat easier.

For the rest of March and the whole month of April we have rooms available to do short or long term retreats. The rates are still $35 a day which includes three meals. One retreatant is in the third month of a four month Mahamudra retreat. Vajrayogini instruction and practice will be happening the last week in March for one of the retreatants. As always, Lama Wangdu and Khenpo Jigme are available for instruction and support in meeting your practice needs. Set up your spring retreat and come and enjoy the land coming back to life.

Revised Vajra Vidya Website

Also there is now a newly revised website for Vajra Vidya-- www.VajraVidyaRetreatCenter.org. Please visit it and tell us what you think about the site and how it can be improved.

Schedule for March

For the month of March we will be doing:

Chenrezig practice every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 7:00 PM.

White Tara practice every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at 7:00 PM

Also every day we do the short Medicine Buddha practice for those who are ill.

Everyone is welcome to join us for these practices.

A Ngondro Weekend

Lama Wangdu and Khenpo Jigme will be conducting a Ngondro weekend on April 1st and April 2 (Saturday and Sunday) for anyone wanting to learn about the Ngondro practices and to actually do them. This individualized instruction is invaluable and if a participant has time, they can stay on for the following week at Vajra Vidya and focus on their Ngondro practice.

Sukavati Ceremony

Our next scheduled Sukavati ceremony April 13th. This is now described in detail on the website and you are all welcome to submit names of recently deceased persons. You can join us at 2:00 PM for the four-hour Sukavati ceremony on this coming April 13th.
